When couples reach out to us about their wedding, they usually start with the same hope. They want their guests to feel taken care of. They want food that feels intentional, not generic and a team that understands how much trust they are placing in their caterer. At Willow & Sage Catering, we take that responsibility seriously.
Willow & Sage Catering creates memorable wedding experiences in Rumson by designing customized menus, offering flexible reception styles like plated dinners, buffets, or stations, and coordinating service and event details from planning through execution. The process begins with a consultation and tasting, allowing couples to shape food, service, and pacing around their wedding vision and guest experience.
We are a full-service catering team based in Rumson, New Jersey, and weddings are at the heart of what we do. From the first tasting to the final course, our focus is on thoughtful menus, steady service, and a clear planning process that lets couples stay present on their wedding day.
A Wedding Catering Experience Built Around the Couple
Every wedding we cater starts with listening. No two celebrations look the same, and our job is to translate a couple’s vision into food and service that feels natural and works smoothly in their chosen space.
Menu Design Rooted in Seasonal, Modern American Cuisine
Our menus are customizable and built around modern American cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Couples can choose plated service, buffet style, or interactive dinner stations based on the flow they want for their reception.
Cocktail hour often includes a grazing table display with imported cheeses, seasonal fruit, antipasti, and flatbreads, paired with passed hors d’oeuvres such as short rib pie, filet mignon negimaki, or four cheese arancini. For dinner, popular plated options include braised short ribs, roasted free-range chicken, pan-seared Atlantic salmon, and vegetarian selections like cauliflower steak or vegetable Wellington.
Dietary accommodations are part of our normal planning process. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available, and we make sure those guests feel just as considered as everyone else.
Reception Formats Designed for Your Celebration
We guide couples through three reception formats: plated dinners, buffets, and interactive dinner stations. Each begins with a one-hour cocktail hour and continues into a four-hour reception, giving you time for toasts, formalities, and a relaxed evening with your guests.
Plated dinners create a traditional flow with coordinated courses and attentive table service. Buffets offer flexibility and variety while keeping the atmosphere comfortable and inviting. Dinner stations bring energy into the room, with chef-attended options such as an Asian Wok or carving board that encourage guests to move, mingle, and explore different flavors. Our service team adjusts pacing and presentation based on your guest count, timeline, and overall vision for the day.
Event Enhancements and Production Support
Beyond the menu, we support the full presentation of your reception. We provide specialty china, flatware, linens, farmhouse tables, cocktail lounges, portable bars, and additional production elements that help bring the overall design together.
By coordinating catering and rentals through one team, communication stays clear, and setup runs smoothly. As an off-premise caterer serving New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, we work closely with partner venues and outside vendor teams to ensure every detail supports the experience you want your guests to have.
Our Planning Process From First Call to Wedding Day
Our process begins with an initial consultation and tasting, giving couples a chance to experience the food and talk through priorities. From there, we create a personalized proposal that outlines menu selections and service style, accessible through an online dashboard.
Our hospitality and operations team stays involved throughout planning, supporting layouts, timelines, and coordination with other vendors. On the wedding day, our culinary and service teams focus on execution, so you can enjoy the celebration you planned.
