You want an engagement party that feels like you. That is exactly where we help. At Willow and Sage Catering in Rumson, we pair modern American menus with thoughtful planning, so the energy of your celebration comes through in every bite and every moment. We serve New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and we build each party around your tastes, your guest mix, and the way you want the night to flow.
To make your engagement party stand out with catering, focus on a personalized menu that fits your tastes and guest preferences. Consider options like grazing tables, passed bites, interactive chef stations, and signature entrées. Complement this with thoughtful venue selection, professional service, and decorative rentals to create a seamless, memorable experience for your guests.
The spaces and how guests move comfortably
We are a catering company, so your party can take place at a home, a private venue, or one of our partner locations. If you need a space, Willow and Sage Catering helps you match your vision to a venue from our network across the region. That way, the room fits the size of your guest list, and the layout supports the experience you want, from cocktail mingling to a lively dessert finish. Our team coordinates with the site to align the timeline, floor plan, and service so guests move easily from arrival to last toast.
Food and beverage approach, and what is included
Your menu is built from fresh, seasonal, local ingredients with full customization. We support dietary preferences such as vegan or gluten free without making them feel like an afterthought. Start with a grazing table that brings guests together, then layer ten passed bites that spark conversation, like Asian short rib pie, lobster rolls, or mini Philly cheesesteaks. Prefer a seated plan for toasts. We can design a first course salad and a choice of signature entrées, including vegetarian selections that taste like a main. For a station party, choose interactive chef stations such as Asian Wok, Craft Tacos, or a Mac and Cheese Bar. Finish with passed mini desserts or a focused station, from gelato to a hot cookie dough finish.
Alcohol is simple. We do not provide it; you order and pay for it, and we can supply bartenders. A practical ratio is one bartender for every fifty guests. We also set up your non alcoholic bar with sodas, juices, bar fruit, and the essential equipment so service runs smoothly.
What is included with your booking, and what to plan separately
From the catering side, Willow and Sage Catering handles culinary design, staffing, timeline, and coordination with your site and vendors. Through our rentals program, you can add specialty china, flatware, linens, farmhouse tables and chairs, lounges, portable bars, tenting, flooring, staging, lighting, florals, and decor. If the look matters to you, we can also provide silk floral packages with mixed table designs. You supply the alcohol, and we provide bartenders upon request. If you are starting from a space, we can supply restroom trailers. This keeps the planning list tight and in one place.
Service and staffing, and what that means during the event
You will work with a dedicated team that includes planning and hospitality leaders who focus on your guest experience. On event day, our culinary team executes the customized menu while professional service staff manage the flow, timing, and details at the table and stations. The benefit for you is that you can be present with your guests while we keep courses moving and glasses filled.
Planning flow on site
Our process starts with a conversation and a complimentary tasting. From there, we build your proposal and share it through a web based dashboard, so menu and design decisions are easy to track. We refine the layout, timeline, and vendor plan together, then our team handles kitchen and service execution. A small but telling detail, our grazing table anchors arrivals with imported cheeses, seasonal fruit, and garden vegetables, so guests feel welcomed from the first step in.
Event types we support
Engagement parties are one of our core social celebrations, alongside weddings, corporate events, and mitzvahs. If your celebration includes traditions or special requests, Willow and Sage Catering listens and shapes the plan. That could be a lounge-heavy reception, a sit-down dinner, or a station party that keeps the room moving.
Conclusion
An engagement party should feel easy, lively, and personal. Willow and Sage Catering brings the food, the service, and the planning support to make that happen. Tell us what you love, and we will shape a menu and service plan that reflects it.
